Hi, Prayer Partners! These last few months have been very busy here at Bethel! Once contractors finished with the work they were required to do, the Bethel church family began working really hard trying to finish the building before Easter. Although it is still not finished, it reached the point that we were able to have the Resurrection service there in the new space. We have continued to work hard, and the building is nearing completion. We are so thankful for the financial gifts that have come in. God is providing in many ways. He has provided for carpet and doors cheaper than they would normally cost. God has truly blessed Bethel by giving the members a desire to work together on the building.
Pastor Glen took the approximated hours that the church family has worked times the amount we would be paid if we were getting paid. He realized the church has saved over £60,000 on labor alone, plus the deals God has allowed him to get on materials. We are very thankful for how God has continued to provide. A huge praise that I would like to share with you all: Bethel received a large gift that will cover most of the expenses still remaining for the new building. 😊
People who come to the different outreaches have fun, but can’t understand why we talk about God, whom they personally believe isn’t real. We continue to pray that God will open people’s eyes and that they see their own personal need for Christ’s forgiveness and salvation. After Easter, Bethel had an all-day Bible club with quite a few new kids who attended! I taught Bible 4 times that day. They also enjoyed crafts, games, and lunch! 😊
Thank you so much for your continued prayers for me. I’ve stayed quite busy with the kids’ ministries, teen ministry, Bible studies, and helping with the new building. Some of you have asked if I have time to build friendships. For the first few months building friendships and hospitality were a focus for me. Then, as it is with all things, life became very busy, and building friendships and hospitality began to fall by the wayside. However, in the last month or so, I’ve been reminded how important those ministries are. As I pour more energy into reaching out, I am reminded that building friendships and showing hospitality can be done in a variety of ways. 😊 I’ve also intentionally set aside time to rest and enjoy where God has placed me – here in Southern England. 😊
Two weeks ago, we celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee with 4 days of community events. 😊 I hope you all have a good week!😊 Thank you for all your prayer and financial support! 😊
God bless
Mary Coburn
